Our Team
Robert Hurst
Robert Hurst is the Founder and CEO of Dynamic Educational Solutions (DES). DES was born from Robert's experience transitioning from active duty in the Army and the intrinsic struggle that many military veterans have experienced. A former Army non-commissioned officer and the former director of veterans affairs for Southern Methodist University, Robert has seen firsthand that a successful transition from the military is different for each service member. "Though we go through the same process, every person's transition is unique to them, and they will gauge success differently when separating from service." Robert was medically separated from service in 2016 and earned his degree in Psychology at Collin College and the University of Texas, Dallas.
Robert, his wife Melissa, and their two boys, Leo and Grayson, live just east of Dallas, TX, with their three dogs and cats. Although a native Tennessean, Robert considers himself a true Texan these days. "Texas is the destination for anyone interested in furthering their professional and personal growth. Everything truly is bigger in Texas, including opportunity." Robert enjoys homesteading with his wife, Melissa, and coaching his children's football and soccer teams.
Chase Hurst
Chase Hurst is the Co-Founder and COO of Dynamic Educational Solutions (DES). After serving as a non-commissioned officer in both the Marine Corps and Army, Chase was medically retired in 2016. Following his service, he began his path toward higher education, earning his degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Psychology, Counseling, and Rehabilitation/Disability Studies in 2019 at the University of North Texas. While studying at the University of North Texas, Chase was active in the Student Veteran Association and interned with the director of student veteran affairs. This experience has given him a unique insight into obstacles non-traditional students face, especially those transitioning from military service. Serving with DES allows me to continue my path of service by working with industry leaders and cultivating environments that meet transitioning and advancing prospective students where they are.
Chase, his wife Elizabeth, and their two children, Briggs and Alexis, live just north of Kansas City, MO, with their two dogs and one cat. Born and raised in Middle Tennessee, Chase was drawn to the welcoming and down-to-earth culture of the Midwest. Chase enjoys running 5ks with his family in his spare time, spending time outdoors, and discovering the best BBQ Kansas City offers.
Jonathon “Jon” Sample
Jonathon “Jon” Sample is the Managing Director for Education and Curriculum of Dynamic Educational Solutions (DES). After serving 6 years of active duty in the Army, Jon completed his military service with 5 years of service in the Army Reserves. During that time, he completed his degree in Multidisciplinary Studies with a concentration in General Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2019. After working as the Advanced Simulation Specialist at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Jon enthusiastically accepted a similar role at the Veteran's Association Hospital in Omaha, where he directly trained healthcare providers in life-saving procedures and certifications to be used in the care of Veterans in his community. He is looking forward to using his experiences navigating the world of higher education as a benefit-eligible Veteran to help others more easily access their educational benefits.
Jon lives in Omaha with his wife, Tina, and their two teens, Mackenzie and Jack. As the children will be in college themselves in only a few short years, Jon is instrumental in seeing that they are able to utilize their dependent benefits with as few hurdles as possible. The military community in Omaha and Bellevue is significant, and Jon is excited to make an impact locally as a member of the DES team.
